1. I think you're right. Do it like a split bed with dual encoders.
2.The product control node should be outputting 12 volts on these two pins based on sections 1 and 2 for doing exactly what you're talking about. I've never hooked anything up this way, but if the current draw isn't too high, that's how it's supposed to work.
3. This is going to depend on the valve type you have programmed in. If it's programmed as PWM, the valve will stay at the current position until you turn the product off. If you program as PWM Close, then it will also shut down when you turn the master switch off.
4. I'm not sure what you mean about PWM on an NH3 cart, but on the air cart it would be the same as on question 3.
