far northeast corner of MO
I'm a Burrus dealer and what I learned at our kick off meeting in Collinsville a couple weeks ago is that Burrus will get germplasm from Pioneer through ProAccess. We entered into a distribution agreement with Pioneer, meaning we will be able to distribute the hybrids that we cross from Burrus and Pioneer germplasm. Nothing more nothing less. I got the words straight from Tom Burrus. Monsanto has tried like hell to get Burrus and he told them no repeatedly. Burrus will not be using any of Monsanto's new technology (i.e. "Smartstax). We will also not have RR2 soybeans. I think this is a big feather in Burruss' hat. We snubbed the big corporation who wanted to dictate everything we do just to do business with them. I think it will be a great tool in the future!
