Subject: Cover crop question, Aerial seeding

Princeton, In
We are planning on having some annual ryegrass flown on into standing soybeans. Harvest will probably be last half of October due to the late crop in this area (So. In.). Will the ryegrass just lie there if applied well before leaf drop or does application need to occur close to leaf drop? What kind of seeding rate have you been happy with if you have done this/seen it done? Any other suggestions would be more than welcome, this is the first time we have seeded a cover crop this way. Thanks in advance for any input.
