Burrus did not really have an option in this. From a very reliable source in the seed industry, Monsanto offered to buy (add) Burrus to their ASI lineup a couple of years ago----last chance. They were not shut out of Monsanto's genetics after Burrus refused to sell, they were just shut out of the newer genetics. So they had to partner up with someone to continue to get new parent stock.
