Subject: RE: Second wind?

I don't think the wind storms had as much to with there market share gain as there $50 to $80 a bag less price did. When the banker tells the guy I'll give you xx per acre to grow corn the price on the bag is a big factor on what he plants, not the logo on the bag. How many times on here (or the coffee shop) have you heard DK went flat while P stood or Mycogen went flat while Golden Harvest stood ect ect? You can take the same hybrids and the same wind storm and go 5 miles away and have the exact opposite happen.

I don't care where the genetics come from, we all need to plant what ever gives you the best value for your farm. For some of us it might be $60 a bag floor sweepings and for others it might be $350 a bag smart stax. I, myself am less concerned about who owns the company or what the price is as I am what is going to give me the best bang for my buck.
