My short 2ยข on the matter from a relatively young, married idealist.
Take serious consideration of who you chose to marry and make sure that you have common guiding principles.
If you aren't committed enough to as sacred of a covenant as marriage, (which is a commitment to love another sacrificially) to be willing to bet half of what you own on it, you aren't really willing to commit to fullfil the true demands of the marriage vows.
There are some things that require putting principles above possessions and I believe that marriage is one of them.
