St. Gregor, SK, Canada | Thanks!
It was seeded June 5th. A bit late, the field was wet and it sits low. Really heavy clay loam soil though, produces a mean crop. I found out last year dandielions and canola don't mix too well, had a patch in the field and the canola there was half the crop the rest of the field was...
Do ya know where Dauphin is? If you go north of Dauphin on Hwy 10 (just a tad bit ~16km west of town is where Hwy 10 runs), you'll come to a PR 273. We farm in and around that area.
That missed strip is a bit of an embarrasing thing for me... This was the last field seeded, and I was running low on seed. Seems one of my flutes didn't get enough (seeded with press drills) seed. I agree on the walking part though. It becomes impossible to walk through a field of canola once it starts podding unless you have a stripe or two like that! Course' it isn't the prettiest thing being next to a highway LOL!
Good luck to both of us /w our canola crops! | |
