Western Iowa | I signed my farms with corn up for ACRE today. Right or wrong I was thinking that there wouldn't be a payment on beans this year so I decided to just sign up the farms with 100% corn this year. This also let me test drive the ACRE program on 50% of my acres. I see the ACRE program as another insurance policy. Was this a smart move? Comments and suggestions are welcome because I have until the 15th of Aug to change my mind.
Note: Do your homework on the ACRE program before you go in to sign up because the staff at the USDA offices are getting minimal information on the benefits and drawbacks of the program. | |
