There are so many different opinions/methods to grow corn you could try a new strategy every year and not try everything in a lifetime. On our low CEC sands I feel banding as much as possible close to the seed increases availability to the plant and results in a better crop rather than broadcasting my fertility. It does slow us down but do believe it is worth the effort. Strip till looks like one method that may allow me to spread out applications and keep the soil concentration of nutrients up around the seed.
