Germany

Huge problem "here" on buildings that were insulated with styrofoam and a plaster facade. The woodpeckers would definately not find any insect prey here, but make holes any way. The theory is that the facade sounds just like a rotten tree when they work on it. I've seen houses with dummy woodpeckers mounted to the wall - signalizing "this place is occupied!". More or less an act of desperation. I have not heard of a good cure yet. Shooting...might end up with more undesired holes in the siding?
