I had heard recently someone state that those deaths in Dominican Republic looked like organo-phosphate poisoning.  I think I also heard there was spraying outside the A/C units.  That makes a lot of sense to me.  Organo-phosphates.  Think insecticides.  Products like Lorsban, etc. 

So, if someone was spraying organo-phosphates outside, and the A/C units pulled that product into the rooms, I can see how it could be the culprit.

Glyphosate poisoning?  Nope, not in my mind.....
