MT-ND | They do go out eventually(well all bearings do), but Vermeers are very overbuilt. Neighbor says he is at 35k and no repairs (except belts but that's on him). We're at 20k.(M and we have a Super M) Not saying anything to hopefully not jinx myself. The L had problems with the right side starter bearing. Every other year, but it was easy and fast to replace, just annoying
When they do go, most of the time you can just emery it and weld the outside if you're in a hurry(if applicable anymore). Never used a torch on a Vermeer unless it was a bolt with red locktite, or sat outside for 15 years and not used.
Get a "Super" model, they've figgured out what breaks and beefed it up compared to the non super.
Many bearings are greaseable. If you have a Vermeer dealer somewhat close, go see of you can demo one or at least look at it.
