| I am unaware of any company that calculates GDU’s from emergence. The protocol for measurement is standardized across the industry from planting date. That being said, there is no industry standard for GDU to physiological maturity for a given CRM, hence the nearly 300 GDU difference for a given CRM across the various companies. I can confirm that Pioneer is calculated from planting, and not emergence as some claim. I’m not sure why this is a common topic, but I’d welcome your input.
