N FLA | Our soils are mainly lacking OM and water holding capacity. Consequently they drop nitrogen and potash quickly. Manganese and Boron are mobile and we drop those easily. Our soils are easy to lime to 6.5 pH and will have adequate calcium and magnesium levels. Nitrogen fertilizer strips calcium quickly. But it's pretty easy to maintain with a ton every few years. They are high in P.
They are kind of the perfectly manageable soil with irrigation. You virtually cannot get rained off a field. | |
