NS Canada | You're cutting it from the wrong direction.. Spear it from the end around the center of the bale, cut it in half, back out, lower spears to the bottom and cut the same spot again right down thru the remaining bale.
Back out and go off to one side, cut it in half, back out and go to the other side and cut that in half. Gives you quarters that are easily forked out.
I took the guard off mine too cause its loud always banging around.. But watch you don't hit anything with it.. It will kill a cow.. Experience talking. Well it didnt kill her, but had to shoot her.
