Sw mn | Cut it the other way and if hand feeding off the pile you just have to cut to the core. Pull the core out and the rest flakes easy. Used to use that old hay knife and it took about five minutes to cut a 4x5 950 lb bale in half. But now I just use my chainsaw with a chain that was wore out and sharpened to cut hay. It now takes a minute or less to cut a bale in half.
