All I can say is, don't go to Fiji and stay in a hotel there. Roaches in hotel rooms are common. Any food brought into the room must be kept in the little mini fridges. Geckos in the room are also not an uncommon thing. In fact, in most "houses" (if you can call them that) where people live you will see all sorts of little "creatures."
