Subject: RE: Differences in r and m series john deere tractors

SW Ontario
All 6 series, with a couple cheaper exceptions, are Mannheim built tractors. 6x00, 6x10, 6x20, 6x30, 6M and 6R. 6E and 6X03 are Mexican built tractors, and don't really share anything with any 6 series tractors. They're more a 5 series tractor with a bit more power.
The 6R will always have PFC hydraulics and is the only way you can get an IVT. It also has the bigger cab. A 6M with PFC hydraulics and PQ trans, is the same tractor as a 6R with a PQ trans, except the cab.
They both have 4 cylinder engines in the smaller tractors, and 6 cylinder engines in the larger models. (6150M/R is the break, with it having the 6 cylinder). Check out tractor data for info.
A 6150 and 6170 are both older Tier 4A tractors, made 2013 to 2015. They'll have EGR and DPF, but no DEF. A 6155M/R and a 6175M/R will have every emissions system ever thought built into it.
Edit - There use to be more differences then there are now. You can get TLS and IVT on a 6155M, and PFC hydraulics are standard on them.
