doathlon - 1/16/2019 09:13 Liberty is too expensive as a post on corn because you must use it V2-V5 max......V5 is pushing it. This is because liberty won't make good enough weed contact if the corn is anywhere close to shading a row at all. It's expensive because it's used best with atrazine and callisto+dual or Realm Q (rimsulfuron + callisto) do to the kind of residual you need when posting corn that early. Liberty can also be weak on grass and grass is the largest yield robbing weed in a corn field by far. Specifically foxtail.

That all may be somewhat true but if you're doing CoC and are expecting a large amount of Rup (only Rup) volunteer corn that you can kill with Liberty it is your best option (provided you plant corn tolerant to Liberty).

And that is what the OP is asking about.

We have had very good results using either Balance Flex or Harness pre followed by Liberty + Callisto post.

1.5pts of Harness followed by a 32 oz of Liberty + 3 oz of Generic Callisto and 3 lbs of AMS runs about $24/acre.    Its about $7/acre more than the same with RUP instead of Liberty but if $7/acre gets rid of the volunteer corn it is well worth the cost.

The 3 keys to making Liberty work are

1.) Water/coverage    15 gpa is absolute minimum, 20 is better.   Flat fan tips and lots of pressure.
2.) Sunshine and warm.     You want it to be sunny and 70°F + when you're spraying.  80°F+ is better.
3.) Use real AMS, the dry stuff that is in 51 lbs bags.     Use at least 3 lbs/acre.
