So hear is what works best for my operation. I have fall and spring herds both. I run 90 day breeding seasons and anything not calved out in 90 days gets pulled and preg checked. If bred they get dropped to the other herd. If they are open they get rolled. For me there is only 45 days difference between the last fall calf and the first spring calf. We occasionally preg and ship opens at weaning also but probably prefer doing it the other way. I run bulls out in all the herds during breeding season even in the opposite herds there hopefully isn't any opens.
