Somerville, Indiana | Don't get too mad. There are a lot of squirrels out there 'driving' semis who have no idea what their responsibility entails. A lot of farmers and people who aren't farmers have bought semis in the last 10 years and driving on farm plates. They have been abused and now part of those privileges are being taken away. Indiana State Police gave a program on abusing the farm plates a few years ago here. It will be a here thing too in the near future.
When we think about it, many farmers get wrapped up in what they are doing, and seem to drift off from what is most important at the time, being safe. The 'other guys' buying farm plates are even more apt to be unsafe to save a few minutes.
Not to necessarily disagree, just pointing out the other side of the thing. I was grandfathered in CDL, son had to jump through all the hoops. Isn't that big a thing if a bad wreck happens and lawyers get involved, CDL is one point in our favor. Same as med cards. It is proof to that lawyer that a doc says we are physically fit to drive.
Any thoughts on what those ex cops will be doing to make people miserable once they get layed off?
