Do not know enough about cattle but with hogs, I used to raise a lot, a was terrible at until I bought a scale. Once I ran 1 or 2 through of an entire lot I would not need it anymore, just needed for getting in the ballpark to start with.


I had some pigs on the neighbors feeding floor and his fences were six inches taller than what we’ve got at our place. When I was loading the first cut out of them he showed up and commented that I should’ve loaded two weeks ago. I thought no they’re gunna be light. He was wrong, I should’ve loaded four weeks sooner. That taller fence sure made them look smaller.
