Don't mean to be rude, but if you're doing your marketing based on what the government had said might happen you're not going to be farming very long.
I smartly forward contracted 40% of my soybeans last spring. Haven't sold any since. If the second payment doesn't go thru I will be pissed but not hosed. However, many guys have sold soybeans for cash flow that were banking on the $1.65 to average everything into the black. The market was disrupted the last 8-9 months off typical seasonal patterns because of the tariff war. The government absolutely owes farmers for damaging that market. In fact, the corn market has been held down by soybeans and the 1 cent is criminal. |
