South Central MN | The person I have custom side dress for me has the Yetter Magnum openers on his bar, Valmar box mounted in the middle with the tubes for the seed blowing onto the front of the packer wheels behind the openers. He has been using it for a few years now and does a good job, somewhat moisture dependent for cover crop seed germination but been doing much better than flying it on, been there done that. Seed usually grows in a ~10 inch band, won't cover the whole middle but does well. Can get by with less lbs. of seed per acre than flying on, and for cheaper application cost as well. (Also two operations done in one pass, more efficient.) | |
