Not sure about the spacing thing. Normally for us, the smoother the surface, the more likely to get a uniform stand. Less unit bounce.

I could be wrong, however I believe FactoryFarmer did a fair amount of spring moldboarding. I think since "day 1", cloddy conditions after drying have been one of the main downfalls of spring plowing, unless you have a high sand content. Of course, we don't know if the dirt in the photo was from spring plow, or fall plowing. I don't think FF guy hardly ever responds either, though he always asks for responses.
