| Would say that the Chinese gov't has done an amazing job lifting their population out of the stone age of Mao tse Tung and the gang of 9 (or was it 12) that saw the obliteration of the intellectual class of its citizenry in the 50's thru the 70's. The way that was accomplished was thru manipulation of the their citizenry and the outside world. To advance so fast required rapid accumulation of technical expertise and they were given that opportunity, enlarge, by the U.S. The Chinese continue to manipulate our system to this day. Trump's first action as president elect was to call the Taiwanese president, thus giving notice to the mainland Chinese that the diplomatic status quo would change. No overnight solution to what has been progressing over 40 or so years. | |
