 SE IL | Jon you state that fracking is expensive. Do you have current per bbl cost estimates? My understanding is that it's very competitive. On par with middle eastern production costs without the associated external costs.
I read an article recently that detailed the problems with solar. Mainly environmental costs with disposal of old panels. Not to mention the ability of storing daytime generated power. Batteries currently require heavy metals that are not environmentally friendly plus they are increasingly located in unfriendly locales.
So I foresee fossil fuels remaining in the mix for the foreseeable future. Pipeline operators look to be the best bet near term as the industry harnesses the gas from fracking. | |
