Subject: Different engines altogether

Lincoln County. NC
The 358 and 414 are from different families, built on different continents. 358 is the largest "German Diesel" IH marketed in North America, manufactured in Neuss, Germany. The 414 is one of the Melrose Park 400 series IH engines. The 414, 436, and 466 of similar age share the same components except the crank and pistons.
A 358 block will be shorter than a 400 series block, I'm quite certain.
