Subject: Wrapping Dry Hay

Central KY
We usually store all of our dry hay in barns. Ended up cutting more grass hay than usual this year and our barn space is quickly filling up. I hate round bales stored outside with a passion- can't stand the loss, and all twine tied so it ends up being a mess come feeding time.

Looking at dry wrapping whatever is left once we get the barns full. For those of you who have done it- how many layers of plastic do you use? Also, how quickly do you wrap after baling? This was all baled Saturday, and I'd like to get the barns full first. That will take 2-3 days, then we have chances for showers every day starting mid to late week. Will it matter if they get rained on before wrapping?

I've wrapped a lot of wet hay, but never dry. Thanks in advance.
