I have accumulated a bunch of different types of plastic bins over the years as well as some book shelving from the local library and some newer style racks from Menards. I spent most of last winter going through every shelf, bin, jar, container, box and bucket and part cataloging and sorting the like stuff out and reorganizing everything in 2 different buildings. Still had a large area of Dad's stuff that had not been gone though mostly electrical components, boxes, wiring, fixtures etc. Everything is now organized and labeled. I cut cardboard strips for the plastic bin label holders and marked them with contents of each bin. The small shelf full of gray bins came from Harbor Freight, The blue, green and yellow medium ones came from Global Industrial. Larger green ones and some smaller yellow and orange ones were existing bins. It was good to go through everything, consolidate it, and update it and get rid of stuff that was never going to be used again or was odd ball stuff where there were only a couple of each items and not worth putting in a separate bin. At a moments notice I can quickly check and see if I have something without having to sort through stuff. Wont' post all the pics as it is TMI but here are some various pics some from last winter some from previously on how I organized parts. As Hud says "engineered by inventory"
