midwest
I run 30 miles to the elevator, one town, three stop signs and it takes me 1.25-1.5 hours per round plus 10 min. to load.  I am getting 5.5-6mpg with my trucks give or take a tenth.  I figure my time as next to nothing cause I am doing my job as a farmer.  I own the trucks anyways, so I might as well use them.  I know there will be excellerated repairs and maintance, but to own the trucks and have them sit in the yard and pay somebody to do haul the grain, I figure I might as well keep the .10-.15 cents per bu., on a est. 250,000 bu. that equals about $35,000, I can purchase a different truck every year for that.
