southern MN | Well, anything seems to hit a wall, where the returns become marginal....
There was a PDF slide show someone posted on one of these forums from Monsanto, showed where corn production had about matured, and where that company wanted to focus it's efforts to take over the corn seed business because there was room for growth..... I'm sure we will see 300bu corn someday, but we in the USA will get there slowly. In Brazil or India they might get to 200bu pretty rapidly, from 50-80bu currently.... We are starting at different places.
Henry Ford made a killing on creating the assembly line, and while inovations continue, the assmbly line of 1980 is pretty close to the assembly line of 2010. The computers & robots are better now.
Computer use and communication continues it's rapid advance, but in a decade or 2 we will hit that wall where the inovation will be measured in much smaller units!
It says India has more gifted kids than the USA has kids; however they don't have the education & technology to reach but 10% of them, and by the time they get that infrustructure built the birth rate will match developed countries & they will have an average number of kids.....
So, the data is 'wow', but you can filter it out to be a bit more boring than it appears. :)
