Subject: RE: Python, the preferred programming language skill

East Central, Nebraska
i should elaborate more. i am getting into my upper 30s and want to learn a programming language. raspberry pi's and arduinos intrigue me greatly. i have been involved in computing one way or another since i was 12. back then i was given a computer from my uncle that had visual basic on it. i know there are very intelligent people out there that can pick that up and run with it but i did not. i have become somewhat self proclaimed successful in my farming operation and the little i have dipped into precision ag. worked as a computer tech for some years early in my adult life but never really have given up the desire to want to learn some kind of programming. now with a very young family that seems further away then ever. i imagine myself using sensors and relays to make my life easier on my own farm but really have never took it further then the idea. if anyone has any advice on which direction to take it i would be grateful and happy to listen. i am not out to change the world but maybe somehow make mine a little easier with simple programs that run on an arduino or equivalent to make a simple task automated. i have implemented ip cameras in my operation to make things simpler in my life and to give me peace of mind when i am away but would like to take it a step further.

thanks.
