Subject: We Are Competitive

South Central Iowa
You have been saying that all summer and last spring. We have exported far more soybeans than were expected. We are very competitive in the export market. I made a post, found in the link, that we would likely export 59.9 mmt based on FAS data. Now that we are close to the end of the year, it appears we will export around 59.2 mmt when the census data is included. In the spring and early summer, USDA was calling for 55.1 mmt and you argued on their side and for less because of SAM supplies. It was incorrect then and it is now as well.

It's fine you are more concerned with purchasing because you are an "end user". But don't let your want of lower prices blind you to reality. The reality is we do export lots of soybeans. By the end of the grain marketing year, we will have shipped 150 million bushel more than the USDA was calling for 4 months ago.

Also, if we rally, the Brazilian's price rallies too. They hedge in our market and base off our board.
