Many years ago I and my brother used to haul from 1000-1800 bales per day for the neighbors....It was just the 2 of us,a 2 ton truck, and a Kneib pop up loader....We usually hauled 120-125 bales per load...We used to haul about 30,000-35,000 bales per year for 3-4 different neighbors.....How many bales we got per day depended on the length of the haul and where it was to be stored...Going in to barn lofts was only around 1000 per day.....The 1800 bales per day was slough hay with a 1 mile haul to a 15,000 bale shed stacked from the ground up....We could average 40-45 minutes per load...We put in long days.....Got 22 cents per bale at the end which I think was 1984..The heaviest bales we would haul was 60 lbs...One neighbor loved to make 80-100 lb bales but it got to where no one would haul for him.....He did 60 lbs for us or we left..We hauled for him for years.....Those were some good times and I miss those days...Everyone that we hauled for have been gone for quite a few years..
