n.c.iowa | Yup lesson learned here also, last year I'm not quite sure if I tightened those halves unevenly, or not tight enough, anyway it started doing the hula half way through the season. Wore a hole in the pump suction hose, replaced with a new hose retightened the bolts, at the end of planting my son says" I think that new hose has a hole in it too". Sure enough it did.
So a lot more to this story, but the crux of the deal was that we had to replace the pto shaft on a 245 mag, the coupler on the pump was shot. New coupler is $900, just happened to have a couple of pto pumps for 900's around, lo and behold, the snap coupler off of a 900 pump attaches right to a 22 gal pump on a 1200 planter. | |
