Subject: RE: Dicamba vs Liberty soybeans

We were about 50 / 50 last year on ready & Liberty beans. The RR beans were our higher yielding beans but that was because they were on our best dirt. Where soils were similar there was an insignificant difference in yields . We will be 100% Liberty in 2017. As others have said, you need a good residual put down as a pre. In our case we will be using Fierce XLT in conventional tillage. Post will be Liberty plus clethodium, for extra help on grass as well as volunteer corn, as the one weakness of Liberty is grass control. Whether we add a post residual will be on field by field basis.

Personally I am not sold on dicamba beans. Mean reason is that we are seeing less & less control of TWH in corn sprayed with dicamba. Others is the required boundary plus not being able to spray any other chemicals with the soybean labeled dicamba products.
