Subject: RE: Dicamba vs Liberty soybeans

Nebraska
Not sure on the yield drag on Liberty beans, but a real world experience here. 2 of my neighbors last year went 100% Liberty beans, and had the Liberty Link signs up early so nobody sprayed RoundUp accidently on them. They were pretty good looking fields and had some of us neighbors wondering about switching to them. However, our RoundUp beans yielded very well this past year and we still have pretty good weed control.

Now talking to the one neighbor just before Christmas, he was asking how our soybean yields were and we told him very good, as a matter of fact, the best we had ever had. Well heard from the seed dealer the other day that they are switching back to RoundUp beans because they were not as satisfied with their Liberty yields.

I'm not sure on the ExtendiMax herbicide yet. Seems some coops are all in, others dragging their feet. But they will spray Status or Di-Flex on corn with beans right next to them, so not sure I understand why they are so concerned...
