Sounds like you need to deep plow. I think someone posted some pics from California on here once of deep plowing. We have a similar situation here on our creek bottoms. A few feet of brown dirt on top that has washed down from the hills and a layer of black dirt below that. I don't have much bottom ground, so I've never sampled that lower layer.
Has anybody played with DEEP ripping?
