Mid Michigan | Before you get too involved in it I would just pick out a small section of the field and run the tile plow down that one section a couple of times. Maybe a down and back trip ten feet apart in a 40 acre field. Then do a comparison to the rest of the field and see if you can tell a noticable difference in the crop. It should stand right out either good or bad with a test strip. Might have to go up in a airplane to see the difference. You might not be that far off with this. I have heard of guys having tremendous crops grow over the top of a pipeline installation. They had no idea what was under the soil until the pipe trencher brought up all the fertile soil. The guy made a huge turnover plow for his JD 4wd. It took 400 hp to pull it. I saw the article in a Farm Show magazine about 5 years ago. | |
