East Arkansas | I grow about as much corn as rice anymore and I don't think either crop is going to be a barn burner this year... This heat is scaring me on the rice too.
That land has always been cheaper but that's pretty cheap...I don't know why that area has always been so far behind. Outside money is still looking for a place to put money and the PLC program is going to prop up folks with good farms and good rice bases. The difference between what below average and exceptional farms receive through this program when prices are low is astounding, on a 5k acre farm with half a rice base it could be as much as 150k.
