Try buying land on the western outskirts of Chicagoland, competition from the nomad sellouts moving west, development investors, and well dug in bto farmers. Still brings a minimum of 12k per acre. I wish I had your problems
it's very much the same here. land is going for anywhere from $10-15k no matter the quality of the soil. most of it up bought up by large farms or investors and of course they are also the only ones that can actually afford it. small farms are shrinking as people retire and the land gets sold since most don't have kids that want to farm. even the government is talking about taking away all the little perks small farms get along with tax exemptions simply because there isn't enough small farms left for it to be worth even considering them |
