NC Indiana | It depends how good/thick the cereal rye was on the beans as I have some where the rye straw is already broken down and have weeds coming and other areas that I have had bad broadleaf pressure forever and sowed the rye heavier and have a mat of rye straw and zero weeds except where the row unit moved residue and expose bare soil. On my corn, the patch where we ran a VT tool to knock out where we fed cows in wagons and rings and planted to silage corn is the weedest corn we have. The few acres where we didn't have cover crops had marestail at planting and have some foxtail coming on now. The cover crops acres might need spot sprayed, but that falls back on how good the cover crop was going into planting. | |
