The next thing you will see is contrast - some use an actual contrast number, others use a computed number that is 10x as high as the 'real' number. Frankly this part gets to be very subjective. The picture can look harsh or soft, and it depends on your lighting & what you view as to what is 'better' on the contrast deal.
I think LCD are much better than the early ones, I think they sell a lot more of those. Plasma used to be the premium for rich look & color & sharpness on real big sets; but plasma also uses more electricity, might wear out sooner, and has a faceplate that will glare & shine any reflected light in the room.
Samsung is good that's what we got, Sony looked good, a lot of others are good.
I have never seen a Westinghouse look good in the store, don't know if they set them up special to look that bad?
