Subject: Re: Deere vs. Trimble again...

Leesburg, Ohio
We found the ATU to be just as accurate as the integrated system, with one big exception: line aquisition.

We have an integrated valve and GS2 on our planter tractor, and had an ATU and GS2 on our drill tractor. Both maintained the line to the inch (we're on RTK) but the ATU would not aquire the line at all until after manually guiding it down the correct row about 50 yards into the field. Hit the resume button any sooner, and it would immediately jerk the tractor 3' offline. Wait 50 yards to hit resume, and it would be fine.

With the integrated system, we can make a 1/2 turn on the end, hit resume, and it will immediately and smoothly aquire the correct line, finish the turn, and establish the correct line with the towed implement.

After changing the drill tractor to an integrated valve, it works great, just like the planter tractor.

We have had an EZsteer for four years, and find it to work about the same as the atu...put it online manually, wait a few yards, then hit the button.

BTW...we did have our dealer, and Stellar Support, and the factory working on the problem at length, with no fix. The dealer treated us right on converting to another integrated valve. Problem solved.
