SW Wisconsin | I wanted to open up two rooms so I gave the specs of the house to the building department at Menards and they consulted with their engineer on how long and what size beam I would have to use. Mine was only a 10' span and it required 3 - 2x12 LVLs to make the beam. I glued it and nailed them together. Our house is two story and it was a outside wall that I opened up into a addition that was already there. | |
