I remember enlisting in the USAF and serving a 4 year term, 15 months of that in a combat zone detached to the USMC (MAG12 at K6) as part of a small USAF air traffic control team detached to the USMC . However; during a recent background check for security clearance, the government security folks could not find any records of that service. When I asked the government service record folks to send me a record of my service, they responded that all military service records of the Korean war era had been destroyed by a big fire and no record of my service could be found. So, it depends on who you ask. |
