In Iowa and most counties in Minnesota (unless those exempt by written agreement) silage corn is not insurable. It can be planted for grain, insured, and then chopped for silage, but not insured as corn silage. That's why the corn is appraised as grain out of the field. I'm guessing in MB, silage corn is insurable...
