E. Kansas | I'd be 100% certain your starter was in perfect condition, then chase other problems if the starting doesn't improve. Been there, done that with my 4010, also a 24 volt system. It was giving trouble starting at lower temperature because the engine simply was not being spun fast enough. New batteries, cleaned terminals, etc did not solve the problem, until I had the starter rebuilt. My starter had some internal grounding straps bad, worn bushings, etc. A fresh rebuild by TeVoerts in Bloomington, IL made it better than new. I've had them rebuild generators, alternators, and starters, and they've always done a great job for me.
