| Dont look back, Salvage what you can if you can, if you want to, maybe take some good pics before hand for memories if need be, for the kids in future....but.....
its YOUR place now...put something in there that YOU want.
We had an old corn crib we tore down when Dad put up his Morton building / shop in 1979, BEST move we ever made, then while at it sided the old barn next to it with steel to make it match if you will......I wish I had a nickel everytime both of us said " should have torn it down and put another pole building while at it ", but we store all the junk and small stuff in it, we renovated it with bigger doors, took out the hay lofts, added a lean out, yada-yada....but it aint as useful as our pole building
Ad in the paper or word gets around if you want to tear old barns down, many will respond to do it.....but check out how long it will take them....also check your liability insurance if you go this route....it aint like it was 10-20 yrs ago, just tryin to cover your butt...
Might want to check your zoning laws too, our twp / county sure likes their permits these days
Once you have that new shop / building up, put those pics in there as a memorial if the sentiment goes that deep, but i guarentee, you'll like the new building a ton more and spend more useful hours out there !
Another look at it, put a nice office / kitchenette / bathroom / mancave out there, that way when you are in the "doghouse" you'll have a place to go, might have to give up recieving the nice bacon for breakfast platter though ;-), heheheheheh | |
